Operational Buyer – Category Essential
We are looking for a reliable and independent colleague to join our Operational Purchasing team and take responsibility for the Essential category.
This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth production processes and involves regular coordination with the Category Manager as well as the Planning and Quality departments.
Your Responsibilities
- Ensure on-time delivery and availability of selected materials within the Essential category, considering quality specifications, and total cost
- Communicate proactively and independently with suppliers; negotiate prices and contractual terms within defined limits
- Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, and Quality departments to ensure a stable material flow
- Evaluate supplier offers and take part in supplier selection
- Monitor and optimize stock levels in accordance with defined processes
- Coordinate the complaint process and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions
- Manage purchasing-related administration and maintain accurate data in SAP
- Participate in various purchasing projects in cooperation with Category Management
Your profile
- Secondary school or university degree, preferably in a technical field
- Experience in operational purchasing, ideally within a manufacturing environment
- Good command of English (German language skills are an advantage)
- Proficient user of MS Office and SAP
- Analytical mindset with a systematic and detail-oriented work approach
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Team-oriented personality with a proactive and results-driven attitude
- Experience in conducting price negotiations
